Legacy Rules

Legacy rules outline the evolution of our moderation within Sad Sorrows. These rules have been refined and improved over the years. Legacy no longer applies. Active rules can be found here

Toxicity

  • Do not discuss controversial punishments given to users.

  • No disruptive behavior, such as organizing hate trains or rallies.

  • Refrain from using derogatory language.

  • No harassment, insults, threats, or arguments.

  • Do not misuse spoilers to display inappropriate text or language.

Harassment

  • No discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.

  • Do not make real-world harm threats.

  • Refrain from using slurs

  • No encouragement of self-harm or consistent user harassment.

Staff disrespect

  • Respect the decisions made by the moderation team.

  • Do not target or harass staff members for doing their job.

  • Do not interfere with moderators' duties.

  • Avoid trolling, providing fake evidence, misusing bots, or disrupting chat while staff members are moderating.

  • Respond to staff inquiries and do not assist others in avoiding punishment.

  • Refrain from requesting staff to reverse punishments.

Spam

  • Avoid excessive use of caps

  • Avoid spamming or causing disruptions within channels.

  • Do not excessively type, chain lyrics, or post repetitive images or emojis.

  • Avoid using cluttered fonts or surrounded text-markings.

  • Provide warnings for media with loud audio.

  • Do not constantly beg for nitro, roles, items, or similar requests.

Channel spam

  • Post content in the appropriate channels.

  • Use designated venting channels for vent-related discussions.

  • Follow channel-specific guidelines and review pinned messages.

Advertisement and Promotion

  • No advertising of other servers, products, or events.

  • Do not solicit DMs with incentives such as nitro.

  • Do not share malicious links or files that could compromise accounts or personal information.

  • Avoid bypassing the link filter implemented by the server.

Inappropriate behaviour

  • All content must be appropriate for all ages and family-friendly.

  • No NSFW, sexually explicit, disturbing, or graphically violent content.

  • Inappropriate topics include suicide, self-harm, abuse, flirting/dating, and suggestive content.

Alternate Accounts

  • Avoid using alternate accounts maliciously.

  • Do not use alts to gain unfair advantages or bypass punishments.

Impersonation

  • Do not impersonate individuals on the server with names or profile pictures. (Profile pictures don’t have to be an exact match. Deliberately designing a profile picture or server nickname that might confuse others also falls under this rule)

  • Impersonation of individuals not on the server may still result in punishment if users are deceived.

Name Guidelines

  • Use a recognizable name that can be easily pinged.

  • Only use characters that can be typed on a standard English QWERTY keyboard.

  • Avoid names with excessive duplicates in the server.

  • Changing your nickname back to a rule-breaking name after being warned may result in additional action.

Personal Information

  • Do not ask for or share personal information without consent.

  • Exposing private information may result in a ban, whether in the server or via DMs.

Minimodding

  • Do not act as a moderator by informing others they have broken a rule.

  • If you have an issue, ping an active staff member instead.

Other

  • The staff team collectively decides to remove you from the network for numerous different reasons.

  • The staff team is authorized to issue a permanent ban with collective agreement if a user’s malicious actions exceed the maximum punishment of that specific rule they violated or do not fit in any of our existing rule categories.
